About Alaska State

Alaska is a state on the North American continent. Alaska is a land of superlatives and adventure. The Great Land consists of five distinct regions: Inside Passage, Southcentral, Interior, Arctic and Southwest.

It is one of the states with the least population density, has a diverse economy. Alaska is the only state that borders the Arctic Ocean with the longest coastline than all the other U.S. states combined.

Much of the state is a vast wilderness laced with rivers, mountains, and forests. The state is rich in important natural resources including oil, gas, coal, precious metals, and fertile land. Alaska has more shoreline than all the other states.

Alaska is among the four US states that do not observe daylight saving time.
